The Canadian-made franchise brings Japanese-inspired meals to Thunder Bay’s food scene
Thunder Bay, ON (Aug. 9, 2021) – Edo Japan (Edo), one of Canada’s leading fast-casual restaurants, brings a new flavour to the local food scene with the grand opening of its first street front location in Thunder Bay, adding to more than 150 Edo locations across the country, including four locations in Ontario. Enhancing Thunder Bay’s culinary offerings with its diverse selection of high-quality teppanyaki-style meals, residents can now experience Edo in the Brentwood Village Mall, located at the corner of Arthur St W and Mountdale Ave.
Known for its quick and convenient service, the successful franchise was established in Alberta in 1979 and has since become a staple in the Canadian food landscape. Serving more than 10 million meals across the country annually, Edo has drawn crowds with healthy, delicious Japanese-inspired meals made with Canadian chicken and beef, premium veggies and a signature teriyaki sauce. With diverse and fresh selections such as bento box meals, healthy rice and noodle bowls, gyozas, udon soup, spring rolls and a variety of sushi rolls, Thunder Bay locals will find Edo’s menu has lots to choose from.
Recognizing the value of people being brought together by good food, Edo is committed to supporting the communities where it operates. In appreciation of its popularity among Ontarians, which led to this expansion into Thunder Bay, Edo is taking steps to pay it forward within the local community.
“Our passion for providing Canadians with fresh Japanese-inspired meals and supporting communities beyond our restaurants has been the foundation upon which we’ve achieved our success,” says Terry Foster, VP Operations & Franchising, Edo Japan. “It is our honour to participate in recognizing the positive impacts Thunder Bay businesses and organizations have made on their neighbours.”
Throughout August, Edo will deliver complimentary meals to deserving staff at businesses in Thunder Bay, thanking them for the hard work and perseverance as many residents depended on them during the last year and a half. Recipient organizations will be selected by Edo with the input of Thunder Bay residents, who will have at least two chances to vote on which Thunder Bay organizations they would like to see Edo pay it forward to, along with the opportunity to submit additional nominations.
Thunder Bay residents can now enjoy Edo at Brentwood Village Mall (#201, 595 Arthur Street West), conveniently located on the north. With Edo’s commitment to making ordering easy, customers are encouraged to order online at www.edojapan.com/order or through the My Edo App for a convenient way to browse the menu and pre-order for even faster pick up at the restaurant.
